Roger Schmidt is a German football manager who is currently the head coach of Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League. He was born on March 13, 1967, in Kierspe, West Germany.

Schmidt began his coaching career in 2004 with Preußen Münster II before moving on to coach several youth teams in Germany. In 2012, he was appointed as the head coach of SC Paderborn, where he led the team to a third-place finish in the 2. Bundesliga.
